Lithuanians Unveil the Next Generation of Cooling Counters to the World

Novameta, a leading manufacturer of customized stainless steel equipment for professional kitchens, continues its innovation journey with the global launch of its new class A Cooling Counters.

Next Generation – New Design

According to Mindaugas Jonuškis, CEO of Novameta, the development of this new Cooling Counter aimed to strike a balance between upgrading the product’s design and cutting-edge energy-efficient technologies, while maintaining the trusted features.

"Our first refrigerated table, designed for professional kitchens, was launched in 2012. Even back then, the product stood out in the market for its quality. We designed it with longevity in mind, and it has continuously met industry standards.

Interestingly, when we hinted at developing a new model, some clients expressed concerns that it might detract from the qualities of the original. Therefore, our challenge was to innovate while preserving what made our initial product so successful", he said.

According to the company's CEO, today's professional kitchens demand more than just energy efficiency; they also prioritise aesthetics and seamless integration into modern kitchen designs.

"We focus on energy efficiency, sustainability, product longevity, and we invest heavily in keeping service to a minimum and kitchens running uninterrupted. But today's chefs have many more expectations.

For example, in open kitchens, open spaces, gas stations, and bars, chefs are increasingly focusing on design. There is a trend for products that can be integrated into seamless, uniformly designed lines. The design should be sleek and reflect the ideas of the chef or the people who designed the kitchen.

Therefore, as the company follows the path of sustainability and strives to remain among the market leaders, we decided to create a new generation of A-class refrigerated tables with a new design", says UAB Novameta director.

Energy Class A

According to the company's CEO, the new product belongs to the A energy efficiency class and the 5th climate class, enabling efficient and cost-effective performance not only in low temperatures but also in high temperatures, such as in hot climate regions.

"The new class A Cooling Counter consumes up to 45% less energy compared to its predecessor. It is in the 5th climate class and is designed to work effectively in both regular and hot environments, up to +40°C.

One of the product's key distinguishing features is its increased storage capacity. Unlike most manufacturers, who often leave the space above the refrigeration unit unused or equip it with a neutral, non-refrigerated drawer, Novameta has integrated an additional refrigerated drawer.

For example, in a two-section Cooling Counter with five drawers, we offer up to 25% more cooling space. This feature is highly valued in countries where commercial space is expensive. Considering the energy savings provided by the A-class rating – estimated between 2,000 and 3,000 euros over five years – combined with the increased refrigeration capacity, the return on investment for this Cooling Counter is truly remarkable," explains M. Jonuškis.

The CEO of UAB Novameta, M. Jonuškis, expects the new Cooling Counter to drive a significant increase in sales by 20-30%.

"In 2023, we sold over 2,400 Cooling Counters, accounting for approximately 15-20% of the company’s total sales. Even before the official launch of the class A Cooling Counter, we received substantial interest from customers and secured pre-orders. Many clients are now requesting exclusive distribution rights for this product. We believe that with the next generation Cooling Counter we will increase sales by another 20-30% in the first year," estimates the company’s CEO, M. Jonuškis.
